No One

Speaker: Pastor Colin

Scripture: John 14:16

Topic: Spirit & Life & Spiritual vs Physical

Date: 2025-08-10

No One
• 1. The significance... no one. The finality, accuracy, veracity...
Matt 7:29
• 2. The substance... John 7:46; John 10:27-33; Acts 4:12; John 3:3-7
2Cor 5:21
• 3. The sustenance... nutritious, nourishment, necessity. Matt 44
• This verse teaches that spiritual nourishment is equally, if not more,
more important than physical needs.

Spirit & Life
• The phrase "the words I speak are spirit and life" is a quote from John
6:63.
It emphasizes that Jesus' words carry spiritual power and give life.
• Contrast with the limitations of the physical body or flesh. This verse
highlights the importance of believing and receiving Jesus' teachings leads
to spiritual sustenance and eternal life.
• Context:
• Jesus is speaking to a crowd after miraculously feeding thousands. He
explains that He is the "bread of life" and that those who eat of Him will
have eternal life.
• "The words that I speak...are spirit and life": John 6:65-68

Spiritual vs Physical
• This highlights that Jesus' words are not just literal statements but
carry the very power and life of God.
• The verse contrasts the fleeting nature of physical life with the
eternal life through Jesus' words and Spirit.
• Impact:
• Many who hear Jesus' words find them difficult to accept, with some
even abandoning Him Jn 6:66. This emphasizes the challenge of
accepting spiritual truths that may contradict worldly desires or
understanding.
